Cubing Retirement

I took a sabbatical of 7-8 years. It wasn't intentional but life just got in my way. Personally, I've noticed that people who once get into cubing never really stray too far from it if you zoom out long enough. Once you're intrigued by the puzzle it always calls back to you at some point...even if you take a long break like me!

This depends on your definition of "cubing." I consider cubing to be solving puzzles while speedcubing is solving puzzles with an aim for optimizing time. I do neither. I wouldn't consider being part of a community to count as being participating in the hobby.
That's my point. Being on the forums and talking about cube stuff IMO considers as cubing, so saying you don't cube doesn't make sense.

Yep, trying to fully understand commutators and conjugates was what brought me back to cubing.

I feel like if you would have studied evolution you would realize you were wrong.
I meant studied, not studies.

What I meant to say was that if you learned about evolution, you know that it takes millions of years so it doesn't make sense if life started in 1974.
If you know the theory of evolution, you know it is not possible for life to start in 1974.

Also, I know a LOT about evolution. I had a science test on evolution last week and I got 103% (I got all answers right, including the extra credit questions). Evolution is the process in which populations (group of organisms that can mate with one other) change over time. Two species, for example the lion and the tiger, live in different places, but evolved from a common ancestor. The limbs of a bat wing is similar to the limbs of a human, which means that both animals evolved from a common ancestor. Evolution is a theory, but there are many pieces of evidence that suggests it is real and is actually true.
(Sorry if this is going off topic).

If you really think I don't know what I am saying and that I think I am very smart, then I don't know what to say. I tried to prove my point, but if you want to continue arguing with me, then go ahead.
Trust me, ruffleduck will make you feel really stupid really fast.

not sure what we are talking about anymore hahahah~

Evolution took forever, not millions of years.
The universe is always changing, environment is changing, lives are adapting, evolving, constantly.

Sorry kid, the moment you presented your score from a test, whether it's 100% or 103%, you lost the battle.
A topic so big, so debatable, so much more work to be done can not be concluded with a paper,
and if you gauge your understanding with that paper, you are thinking small.

Anyway, anyone of you thinking of retirement from cubing? any criteria? do you hit sub 20 then retire?
I plan to retire after Ao1000 sub-15, or at least less actively cubing.

Evolution took forever, but to be more clear, it began since life started. "Millions of years" is not a good description I will admit, but saying forever could mean anything.

First of all, Don't call me kid. I'm not a 5 year old. On your profile page it says that you are 33 years old, so.. ngl you should be more nicer. (Yes, I'm implying that all adults should be nice to kids.)
Second of all, there is no battle going on here. I'm just sharing my honest opinion.
Evolution is indeed a big topic, and I definitely do not know everything about it and neither do you. However, I am not trying to brag about getting a good test score. I am also not bragging about knowing everything, because I don't. I am just saying that I know the topic well enough to not be called an idiot on the topic. I know some things about evolution (sry I said, " a LOT" in the other post. )
I feel like if you would have studied evolution you would realize you were wrong.
This is what cuberswoop, said, and I was just trying to say I know the topic well enough that I know what I'm saying, and I have studied about it before, unlike what cuberswoop is assuming.

Hopefully that clears things up.
