World class people still need good scrambles for sub 10 memo
I'm not world class at 3BLD, and I memo sub 10 around every 3 solves. I think averaging 6 or 7 is possible

This would mean that 3.85 + 1.5 = 5.35 seconds would be possible.
1.5 second memo is very unlikely. And how in the world do you solve in 3.85 seconds? The only viable way of doing 3BLD is with commutators, and given that it takes around 100 moves, you would either need a really lucky scramble or 20+ TPS

One thing that is fundamentally true about 3BLD memo is that you must know the position and orientation of every piece. Fast BLD solvers essentially are able to read straight through this, so it isn't really possible to go much faster.

I think 5BLD memo could be a lot faster than what people have gotten so far, I can get sub-2 memo with a lot of repeating memo and not very good memo techniques, I think sub-1:30 memo is doable (under 20 seconds for +centers, 25 for wings, midges + corners in 20, short term xcenters in 25)

No, fast 3BLD solvers still take extra time to memorize the letters. Given that it takes 1 second to read through (not memorize) 4 targets, it should be possible to memo an 8/12 scramble in 5 seconds or less

EDIT: I got an 8.37 average of 50 for reading 3BLD cycles. I just went through all the letters without forming images. Now that I think of it, averaging 6 seconds for memo is probably not possible, but 7 seconds is (assuming someone can read through faster than me and has perfect memory)

I think Maskow's global average for memo was ~7 seconds. But I'm doubtful as well.

Yeah, turns out these memos were faster than I thought, I still highly doubt the 1.5 second memo though

2x2 has huge room for improvement
the average number of moves required to solve a 2x2 is 10.66. According to the wiki, EG uses 12.35 moves on average

so yeah, learning more stuff prob won't help. I'm not an expert on 2x2 though (I don't even know ortega LOL).

1. Chris will once again take the WR avg only to have it stolen the same weekend by Will Callan
2. I will have an official sub 2.5 2x2 avg by the end of 2017
3. Justin will break 3 more MO state records by the end of 2017
4. I will be faster than Justin in every event by the end of 2017
5. DG will steal the Pyra WR single from Drew
6. I will be top 75 for pyra avg within my next 3 comps (likely)
7. ZZ-CT will become mainstream
8. Kian will get an official sub-7 average
9. Feliks will get the first sub 4 in comp

maskow averaged 7 for memo back in his glory days

Kaijun averages around 7 too. He got a low 6 memo on his WR solve, which was definitely lucky, but given some time I think it's possible for people to average 6 for memo.
