Cubetimer?

The scrambler that I wrote I got around it by not selecting a random face, but selecting a random axis, then choosing one of the faces on that axis, then a turn. I.e. Pick one of x, y or z, if you pick x, then pick R or L, if y, then U or D, z implies F|B, finally, pick the turn of 1, 2 or -1. All you have to do is ensure that you don't pick the same axis twice in a row and you eliminate the scenario benjediman describes.

That would be fine for a 2x2 scrambler, but on a 3x3 you really don't want to exclude two same-axis turns. My concern was just that something like U' D could be condensed into a single turn of the equator. I wasn't sure if that should be condensed or not, but Stefan pointed out that it's still legitimate. The more I think about it, the more that really does make sense.

Can you see the scrambles after the solve?

Currently, no. It's on my todo list. I've got several ideas I plan on implementing (some of which cubemania just beat me to), it's just tough to make the time.

I'll be making proper accounts/logins for the site (not required to use the timer) so you can store your times more long term. With those times you'll be able to see the scramble you used.

If I understood brunson's explanation correctly, that's exactly what I did in my JavaScript scrambler. It doesn't exclude sequences like U D. Here's an example:

1. Create a random sequence of axes: y z y x z z x x z x x z z x z y y x y x z y z x y.
2. Pick random faces: U F U R B F L R B L R F B R B D U L U L B D F L U.
3. Add suffixes: U2 F U' R B' F' L R B L' R' F2 B R' B' D2 U' L' U L B2 D2 F' L U2.
