Hello.
A friend of mine recently said "there was a kid on jeopardy who was like ten and he was talking about how he could solve a rubics cube in 29 seconds or something like that and i was like ha! (my name here)'s faster!" and it got me feeling accomplished.
I thought about it and I realized it wasn't because I was faster than the kid but instead that I made a non-cuber think speed cubing is not impressive anymore. So is this a side goal for all speedcubers, to make all non-cubers think it isn't impressive.
If you think about it speed cubing is exactly the same as any other sport or hobby, you're only good at it because you practice. Sure it is nice to have people more likely notice that you are good at cubing and it feels great to have a crowd watching you cube.
I guess I'm rambling now so to sum it up, my side goal in cubing is to make people view it not so impressive when they see someone speed cube but instead as another sport.
My question to you is what is your side goal in cubing?
Or alternatively
Do you think that there is only one goal in cubing and that is to be fast?
