I prefer on left because of the easy finger tricks but on bottom has its bonus of seeing things better. I would like to see what everyone else prefers as a cross side. Left or Bottom?

Cross on left for me; build cross on top as quickly as I can and do a quick cube rotation and look for the first F2l pair during the rotation (if already not found during the inspection).

Cross on bottom. First thing I learned was to stop doing cross on the top. Second reason I use it on the bottom is because during F2L you can see where the cubies are on all sides of the cube. You can also do less cube rotations this way.

Thats true I do find myself rotating the cube to find things sometimes. But like edges on the BL and BR (for cross on bottom) depending on how you are looking at it would not be seen this is also true for left on DB and FD. FD more of the 2nd color same for either BL or BR again depending on how you look at it. I seem to be getting faster though pulled 3 15's today that has never happened so close together in one cube session. I think I will keep cross on left for now, and still tinker with it on bottom

cross on left all the way!
but i pretty much do it on top and then rotate with z' to do f2l
i like the finger tricks as well as doing double layer turns on the l face occasionally :D
