Competition Tutorial?

Since I wasn't ever been in an official Rubik's Cube competition (but soon...on May 19th), I'm not quite sure how things are going to be like. I've seen/read Chris Hardwick's tutorial (on speedcubing.com), but is there any other few pointers on the whole experience?

A lot of people that go to competions write an "experience" on their website or blog about it somewhere. I know Sven Gowal wrote one about the European Open and Bernett wrote one about the Dutch Open for example. Just google for them
