Community Feedback: how can the site improve?

What if the SS Forums could have a General Chat (like the WCA Forum)? It could just be a chat were we can just... chat. But when there was a GC in the WCA Forum, it closed down because of some reasons, like offensive posts, and spamming. Can this work out?

I don’t think this really fits with a forum board. This somewhat exists in the form of the SpeedSolving discord server and other places

is there an official speedsolcing server?

It’s not the same moderation team as the forums, but yes, there is “Speedsolving Chat, a complimentary discussion to the Speedsolving.com community.”

For those days when you get a TON of notifications, I think the notification system should get a new button (if this is possible). The "Alerts" menu should get a new button beside "mark read": "open all in new tab". This would open the corresponding links for all new notifications in new tabs, making sure that it doesn't open the same page twice. If you can create plugins for whatever forum site this is based off, I would be more than happy to make this a button. It's way easier than opening them individually in new tabs, you may accidentally forget one and never see the reply to a thread of yours.

TLDR: new button in notifications menu that says "open all in new tab". When clicked, it creates a new tab for every new notification, ignoring duplicates

So i wanted to add my SS comp id to my account ( https://www.speedsolving.com/competition/showPerson.php?showPerson=10584), but when i type my id it cut it to only 4 chars (1058), so its linking to somebody's else account, and i doesn't seems to be the only one having this problem. I already posted a thread about thius but i was told it would be a good idea to post it here

When using advanced search to filter the years of the results, I find that the newer than and older than give quite weird choices on what years you can search. It goes 10 years in the future for some reason, but it does not go earlier than 2014, despite the forum being quite old and running for many years before then.
