I'm dual color neutral, white/yellow for 3x3 and color neutral for 2x2, and slowly trying to become color neutral on skewb and pyraminx

When I started solving megaminx it was really weird getting used to the color scheme but now is natural.

I'm thinking about practicing color neutrality for 3x3 again just for fun.

what do you guys think about trying color neutrality?

I was trying it for a while a couple months ago, but then I signed up for a comp and wanted to focus on things that would have a more immediate impact. I'm picking it back up now, but there are two new things I need to learn to recognize color neutrally: EO during F2L and a bunch of new algs. I think it's good to try it if you think it's fun, but if you don't enjoy it, dual cn is plenty good enough and much easier. I think of learning color neutrality as cubing's New Game+. You keep your old algs and methods, but you're back down to level 1.

can you solve megaminx?

In 2004, when I started with speedcubing (can´t believe it is already 20 years ago) using a basic Corners-first method, I didn´t know there is such a thing as color neutrality :-).

I just didn´t mind to start solving on any color on a 3x3x3 cube, as well as on any other twisty puzzle.

- What color do you solve?
- Yes.

I recently tried a challenge where I tried to solve the cube without any algorithms I already knew. I managed using a corners first method, that was practically the same as the one mentioned(but less developed, so I average sub 30 with it and sub 16 with CFOP). JPerm also did something similar with a corners first method. It's interesting how most intuitive solving becomes corners first, but I guess it makes sense as it's the easiest type of method to invent.

Oh yeah on big cubes I'm colour neutral for centers as I don't use Yau, but not for 3x3 stage. What's interesting is that I avoid starting on white/yellow centers as it saves a rotation and helps lookahead into edge pairing. Reading that last sentence you would think I'm advanced but I still don't have a 4x4 sub 1 single *sigh*

hey, we're pretty similar! I am also dual for 3x3 and neutral on 2x2. I am neutral on pyra and skewb tho. except skewb doesn't count cuz I average 23 no matter what side I start on. yeah tho, been meaning to try cn on 3x3 since my friend says that it is really working for him rn. good luck!
