I beliece his parcel was opened and checked by the US customs as I understand. I even went up to the post office and ask what has possibly happened as I was so shocked where this has never happened before including all the buyers from the US.
I have already tried my best to help him to be honest. However, on his side seems like he didn’t even bother to enquire the USPS for more information claiming that he can’t read the “Chinese” tracking code. In a completely different time zone, its nowhere as easy for me to contact any entity in the US including the USPS.

His tracking code in ”Chinese”.

Frankly, as a Japanese grown up in Singapore, I don’t know Chinese all that well either. With English and Japanese being my first and second languages respectively, I don’t find it any difficult understanding the information stated on the tracking page.

Anyway, I don’t think he needs to speak “Chinese” to the USPS.

Your ability to twist things to avoid responsibility is impressive. The bottom line is still that you had a responsibility to deliver two cubes to me and you only delivered one while refusing to provide me a refund. As for your complains about me not reaching out to the USPS, that is supposed to be on the seller, not the buyer. But as I stated earlier, I couldn’t do much if I tried because I can’t read Chinese.

@PiKeeper don’t forget I’ve offered you another aofu for $15 just that you’ve rejected it
You already scammed me out of $41, do you seriously think I'm going to do any more business with you? I would rather you take responsibility and offer me a refund since you didn't deliver me the aofu. Because otherwise, you've literally just stolen $41 from me.

I’ve already changed the language settings for you, and you are supposed to contact the USPS immediately if you really want to get back your puzzle from the US customs.

If even you yourself don’t really care about your puzzles, at this point I just don’t think I can help you anymore.

I've looked into it, and there's not much that I can do about getting the package back. You are the one who knows all the details about the package and how it was sent including what sort of insurance there was on it, while all I have is a tracking number from hong kong post which I can't really do much with, so you will need to be the one to get in contact with them to see what their policies on this kind of thing are.

And I will reiterate for the hundreth time, you still are responsible for either delivering me the puzzle I ordered or giving me my money back. It doesn't look like I'm getting the puzzle back, so the only reasonable solution is for you to refund me my money.

Here’s the package I received and the message I received after they declined my request for a refund
I really want to trust him but frankly according to the photo he took, it looks more like he might not have even lost his aofu and just tore the package himself. The photo he posted is kinda sus coz it just not making any sense for anyone to accept a package like that. I have tried my best to help him with the situation, and I even went up to the post office to figure out what was wrong. However on his side, seems like he didn’t even try to enquire the USPS or anywhere else in the US. Unless he can reveal his messages with the USPS, I don’t think I can trust him anymore on the situation. How come he’s so reluctant to communicate with the USPS even trying to skip the step to provide more information apart from his own words?

We know for a fact the package was received unsealed by USPS so there’s no chance that I was the one who tore the package. Now unless you’ve got in contact with one of the shippers and they’ve found the aofu and will send it to me, I would like a refund. Otherwise you’ve undeniably scammed me out of $42 by failing to deliver me the cubes you said you would.

Just to give everyone an update in case they were still considering buying from this person, my $42 have still been stolen by them and they blocked me on PayPal when I requested the money they stole back.
gosh . . .
and how did your inquiries with USPS go when you went to your local post office and talked to then about the damaged package?

This isn't a fight you win on paypal. Go through USPS rhe right way and file claims and stuff like that. Going through usps at least allows a chance that you get your things back. While going through paypal could work, then he's out double the money which is unfair for a problem most likely not caused by him

First of all, USPS recieved the package damaged so I'm not sure there's a ton they can do. Honk Kong Post is the one much more likely to do something about it since it got damaged while with them. But the problem with USPS is that I'm only able to file an international claim less than 60 days from the date of mailing, and by the time I recieved the package it had already been 60 days. Another issue is that USPS claims are almost entirely set up for when the seller is based in the US, since the proper procedure in this case really should be going through Hong Kong Post to see what happened there and what information they know. Also, Fukuoka James neglected to insure the package which also appears to be a requirement for getting reimbursement. Literally all I want is to get back the $42 that was stolen from me, and if Fukuoka James isn't able to get any reimbursement from HKP or USPS, that should be his problem and his problem alone

I agree it's not an ideal situation to be in, but it's what has to happen given that he failed to deliver me the cubes I paid for. You can't take someone's money and then not give them what they paid for, that's called theft.

that's called theft.
I'm sure he knows what it's called

At this point, I don't know what else to tell you. Both him and I have looked at the package and wondered how that could have happened.
My main question is, if the package was received by USPs as unsealed, wouldn't they have A) resealed it for delivery or B) sent it back to the shipping address? If they chose to still send it I don't understand how the end of the package that was empty wasn't completely crushed in the process.
