I average 16 on clock.. is it easy to sub 10?
For me, it's pretty easy to get sub-10 at home. I fail pretty hard at competitions though. Hopefully that changes in Canada!

I like your results of your last comp. Looks very mush like mine![]()
yes, that's a known problem with Chinese Clocks (might happen with tomse Rubik's as well though). Unfortunately there is no way to adjust this. To fix this for my Hybrid Clock I just took a second clock and selected the best parts from both. This made me drop around half a second immidiately.
Sure, that would be allowed.Thanks.
I have another question, are you allowed to officially use a clock with these inner paper sheets replaced by something that looks cool? I'd love to have a black Rubik's clock or something like that![]()
Sure, that would be allowed.
I used to have this variation until I gave it tot JLM (a collector). It actually turned much nicer than a Clock and I had removed some metal pins from the inside so pins would actually drop by gravity unless you pushed them up. I guess that mod made it illegal because it turned different from the original mechanic
So I just received an original Rubik's Clock. The gear turning on it is great, but the pins on it move terribly. They are really stiff and if a clock face is misaligned the slightest bit, the pins "lock-up" really badly. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is it just something I need to get used to?
I'm looking to get a clock, what brand is the best? Also do I really need to take it apart and all that?
Been asked already - check page 3 of discussion! Are custom inserts allowed in comp?
Does anyone else find that their Rubik's brand clock behaves very inconsistently? Some days I'll be able to turn 7's out of it no problem, but sometimes (especially after 50-100 solves or so) it locks up considerably more, and becomes stiffer to turn? What would've been an 8 suddenly becomes a high 9 because I can't turn the damn thing :/
I disassembled my Rubik's brand Clock, sprayed Silicone lube on it, and reassembled it. It's not working right... at all. One of the pins is stuck in place, and the others can't be pushed all the way. The gears keep on popping out of place and the turning is awful. What have I done wrong? I took it apart again, and I couldn't tell what was wrong with it. It still behaved the same way when I put it back together.
Help?
Here's a video demonstrating my clock's behavior, please excuse the poor quality...
If this isn't enough to tell what's wrong with it, I'll gladly show the internal mechanism.
Thanks, Mason
