I don't think that's a first, I remember watching a video of a pyraminx BLD. (If I'm not mistaken, it was by Jude)

EDIT: I saw the unofficial records on speedcubing.com and there seem to be quite a few people on the list.

it is not, my jing's pyraminx is very prone to pop i turn it very slowly, if i turn faster it'll pop
