Hi,
I have a storebought pyraminx, which turns good, but the stickers were peeling (except on the blue side), so I decided to put new stickers on it. My problem was, that I had no pyraminx stickers... Then I simply put 3x3 stickers on it and on one side I didn't put anything on it (white)...

So, my qst:
Can I compete with this pyraminx? I think yes, but I am not sure. Thank you.

Greets,

I'm going to go with Arnaud and say you also need to put stickers on the white side.

Who follows these rules anyway? Mefferts 4x4 has more then one logo (I think) and it is on the corner/s (I know).

Also I THINK the tiles for 4x4 mefferts is too thick.

Maybe the WCA?

The thickness issue comes with the fact that meffert's 4x4s are generally available with the tiles. It would be hard pressed to find a mefferts megaminx 3 years ago without the tiles on it. As for the logo, as it's not quite a visible logo, Ron said that meffert's 4x4s were allowed for speedsolving, but NOT for blindsolving.

Still, it's against the WCA rules. If not all the rules are could be held strictly and correctly, then it will be confusing at some point.

how expensive is it to just get pyraminx stickers from like, cubesmith
about 4.25 bucks including shipping, so why not just by those

or for temporary stuff just buy a few sticker sheets from a random office supply store and print the right colors on them

That sucks!!
Why?! What the sense of this regulation? I can't even cheat with this -.-

Well if there were to be two faces with very similar colors, then that would be a problem. That rule just bans everything that has to do with altering the colors of the puzzle. Unfortunately, it applies to your pyraminx as well.

I guess the point is to make sure the judge can tell at a glance that the puzzle is solved. The rule really ought to read "the stickers/tiles on each side should be the same and clearly visually distinct from those of the other sides, at the judge's discretion" or something like that. Oh well, at least stickers are cheap :P

I have a quick, semi-related question:
My Meffert's Pyraminx has a logo on one of the yellow tips. Does this make it illegal in contests?

It shouldn't be as cubesmith stickers have a logo on them and theyre very popular and rubiks originals are allowed in comp and they have rubiks logo on them.
