Broken center piece

I went out and bought a 5x5x5 yesterday. I was using it, wasn't careful enough, and broke one of the center pieces (the Fur piece). Do I need to buy replacement parts, can I glue it back together, or can I just ignore that particular piece?

Thanks

If I am not mistaken, the Rubiks 5x5x5 actually has a disclaimer with it that says "not suitable for speedcubing". Off course everybody just ignores this. Cubesmith sells replacement parts and if you ever go to a competition, some cubers will have replacement parts with them (also from broken cubes).

If you order a Rubiks 5x5x5, just order 2. One will brake and will provide you with enough replacement parts for the other one for a long while.

If the cube is still playable, just keep enjoying it while you wait for your replacement order. Just expect dirt/dust to get inside your cube and hinder execution.

Yeah, happens. Especially if you're not careful after a spinout. There's no use gluing it back together, even super glue won't work. There are some 5x5s that are more prone to breakage...I broke 3 with an old one, but haven't broken any with my current one.

So you can either buy another cube, use the old one for spare parts, or vise versa, or just order one from cubesmith for 1.50 plus shipping.

I got it from Barnes and Nobles (I spend a lot of time there :) ) I'm not sure about their refund policy. The cube still works perfectly fine and I have solved it once again (for someone who's only solved it two or three times, that's a big deal :D) I'm planning on ordering a spare piece from Cubesmith, as I don't want to spend $30 on a second cube and won't be going to any competitions in the near future (before I go to my first competition, I want to be averaging at least sub-30 on the 3x3x3 and also be able to solve a few other puzzles (i.e. 4x4, 5x5, Square-1, etc) at mediocre speeds), so cubesmith seems to be the way to go.

Well, I don't think I'll be able to go to out of state competitions until I'm faster (the parental unit isn't too enthusiastic about cubing and is reluctant to do anything related to it, so I'll need some fast solve times before being allowed to go). However, I'm planning/hoping to go to Rutgers next month, since Rutgers is nearby, so if anyone here does attend, I may see you there :)
