Breakdown of My 3x3x3 Solves

I did an average of 10 for 3x3x3 and it was 40.88 then I did an average of 10 for each part of the solve such as the cross, F2L, and LL. These are my times: Cross: 4.88 F2L: 16.01 LL: 15.42 If you add all of those together you get 36.31. I thought it was interesting that if done separately I average over 4 seconds less then when I do a whole solve. What do I need to do to get faster?

Your last layer is taking a really long time and will be the easiest to improve, although it will also require simply memorizing more algorithms for the most part. If you don't know 2-look OLL and PLL, you should learn it.

Also, the reason that you average slightly faster when breaking the solve into steps is because you've taken out the recognition time in between steps.
