I've seen Thrawst's video, and it seems like his method would get too much excess lube on the pieces. Then again, it does protect the core component, which is important.

What are your preferred methods for applying CRC Heavy Duty Silicone Lubricant? I'd like to know everyone's opinions before trying to apply it.

I will take the whole cube apart and use compressed air to clean out any buildup of junk that will slow it down. Then I put it back together, minus one edge, and just spray one or two times with silicon and it works great. I have a friend who uses patroleum jelly, it makes it soft but slows it down. I experimented with it and if you add just a little silicon it gives it more speed while still maintaining the smoothness.

i think that taking them all is always good cause my crc drys really fast so just spraying it in on edge donest get them all but when i just want to put some one some that poped out and went flying i just take out the edge

If you ask 10 people here...you're going to get 10 different responses. I tend to turn a face 45 degrees, spray the black that i can see on both sides, all 4 faces around, work it in, and repeat for each face.
Just try a couple methods. See what works for you. But remember, this is a plastic puzzle, we're not dealing with precision-milled machinery here, keep it real.
