Best Lubricant?

Just went and got mine. Lets see, what I use is the ACE brand, its PURE Silcone Lubricant, its a 11 oz bottle with the suckiest cap in the world to get on and off haha, anyway ya, just ask one of the workers there if they have any silicone lubricant and they should point you in the right direction. Mine has a picture of Gears on the front if that helps at all. Good luck :D

silicone spray

DO NOT USE pertrollium

yep. the cube wears out easily if you use petroleum jelly. also, you need to reapply every 2 weeks unlike silicon spray which you need to reapply every 3 months. try the 'cyclo' brand of silicone spray. it can be found at hardware stores.

But *what* cube? A big suprise to you: there are several brands and different plastics, all cubes aren't identical.

I lube my cube every 50 solves or so because I like the perfect feel of it just after lubing. It takes about 5-10 seconds, so I spend less than 0.5% of my cubing time lubing. Is lubing every 2 weeks really a big deal?

i don't recommend using petroleum jelly, it destroys the cube. use silicone spray instead. i'm using the 'cyclo' brand. it's really good.

Why not?

Petroleum products can degrade the plastic that your cube is made out of, which will shorten the life-span of your cube. Also, petroleum jelly is goopy and yucky, and it will dissolve the adhesive on your stickers.

I've been using cube lube, which is a silicone liquid. It's easy to apply (don't have to disassemble the cube or wait for it to dry), it's inexpensive, and it makes an amazing difference in how your cube spins. It goes on liquid, and then dries to leave a fine film of wax-like silicone on the moving parts of your cube. The problem is finding it. I used to buy it at www.cubelube.com, but I placed an order last month and the product still hasn’t arrived. Meanwhile, I’ve emailed them several times to find out if it’s a lost or delayed shipment and still haven’t gotten a response. I don’t know whether or not they’ve gone out of business, but I no longer see them as a viable source.

If anybody knows where to get a reasonable facsimile, I’d appreciate the tip.

Which is better CRC or ACE Silicone?
I tried both and didn't see much difference (except CRC dried up faster).
