Hey I'm currently using beginners for 3x3, and I want to go a step further, but I am very bad at memorizing, my friends recommend roux, should I learn roux, is it as good as CFOP, and how fast will I be able to go with roux? If not roux, what method should I use?

Roux is definitely as good as CFOP in terms of speed. For full Roux you still need to memorize 42 algs, while full CFOP requires you to memorize 78 algs. Maybe you think the difference is not worth it, your decision.

What you can also do is to learn CFOP "because" you're not good at memorizing, with the purpose of getting better at it. As soon as you have an interest or goal it usually motivates enough to be faster at learning and a better memory can help a lot, even outside of cubing. Just a thought.

Roux is at least as good as CFOP. Basically, just try a few different methods and use the one which you find the easiest/most fun/fastest depending on your preferences. I would say at least try CFOP, Roux, ZZ, PCMS, Petrus and SSC just to get a feel fir what methods there are.

What I do is f2l then the beginners method to solve the last layer and I got sub 60 almost sub 50 but i suggest learning CFOP or Roux
