Berkeley Fall competition

Well I did my one successful blindfold that I wanted ;P. It was a 4:11. Slow time, but I was going slower to make sure I was going to finish this one. My first BLD, popped on the first turn. I DNF that attempt but surprisingly not because I placed the pieces in wrong; they were correct (1 edge and 1 corner).

I'm a little disappointed on my performance at the 3x3 speedsolve. I think I averaged 21 on the final round. I get nervous too easily. I usually get 18.xx averages at home. Oh well, next time. I still had alot of fun though :). Next bay area competition is Caltech winter?

These comps get ever crazier for me. Several NR's for me, but not the ones I wanted.

Sounds like I can chill during the winter break :)

Chill all you want (I hope there's a cold winter in Germany, that'll help). I'll keep myself warmed up with M2 and r2 practice. ;)
(I have to watch out for Tim, right? Stupid, silly, tiny setup errors! Cost me third place in the world, after Kuti and Hardwick...)

I also hope there's a cold winter, i like cold winters :). But that won't prevent me from practicing, so you probably have to watch out for me (10:06 new pb for 4x4x4 bld) ;).

/update: new pb 9:29 :)

That was seriously a fluke. I rarely get any sub-12s in practice. And that average was faster than anything I had ever set in practice.

Wow, Andy Tsao finally did his norm. in competition, congrats! Sweet avg on everything.

Frank, you were very close to breaking the 5x5 WR, which would have made it the 3rd time broken in like 2 weeks.

Congrats all.

this compeititon was great, i enjoyed 2 rounds of speedsolve for everything, so nothing gets shortchanged. thanks for the great tourney dan. had some new single solve pbs and average records, but still no sub 20 3x3 average :(
