Hey fellow 'cubers!
I decided to start OH cubing,
I'm not sure which hand to use though..?
I am a righty, but I am better with my left hand.
my first timed OH solve is: 3:34.1
I wish my fingers got bigger though, these 12 year old fingers are to slow.

So, if you have any advice, please do state :)

well, try both of your hands...

you may find that is better to use your stronger (right) hand or your more dexterous (left) hand

try making some hard cases with cross on left/right (depending on the hand)

2-gen algs are also nice

and...

practice :)

it may feel really bad at first...like...your hand is going to fall...but don't worry :)

you'll get better with time

My fingers are huge, and I actually find that to be somewhat of a hinderance for the smaller puzzles like the 2 and 3 and magics. For OH, having longer, slender, more agile fingers are probably more effective. Having these huge hands allows me to do a 5x5 OH without too many problems though...

How big is Ryan's or Dan's and Chris'? My middle finger is 8.8 cm, my palm is 10.5 cm (counting from the wrist line till the...beginning line of middle finger). So the hand span is er...19.3 cm? I'm 14 and I don't know if it's gonna get any longer lol.

My palm is 12cm and my finger is 9 cm. 21 cm is quite a large span, but again, I have really fat fingers. The width of my middle finger at the middle knuckle is 7.5 cm... O well, they work well for big cubes (hopefully even more for the big, big cubes)

Rough estimates with an inch ruler (stupid units...) converted to centimeters:
From wrist to start of middle finger: 10.795 cm
Middle finger length 8.255 cm
across a knuckle is about .5 inches so 1.27 cm. maybe a little more 1.5 cm...
Hand Span measured at :19.05 cm
I don't think hand size matters much. I also don't know why I measured my hand so detailedly.

Ryan's hands are pretty big...at least they look like that in his videos :)

I think Dan has big hands too...

let me measure mine...

*goes and gets a ruler*

my middle finger is about 8.6cm
my palm 10.5cm

so, span = ~19.1cm

wow
my middle finger is about 2cm wide at widest point :D

Frank Morris has quite big hands too...and so does Chris Hardwick...

I think it helps to have long fingers, not necessarily big hands or fingers. In fact, it is probably not helpful to have extremely big hands or fingers as it probably feels more clumsy when holding a small cube like 2x2 or 3x3.

Yeah, it was circumference. Width would be ridiculous. Arnaud... I don't consider myself to be as big as Hardy yet. O and Jon has really long fingers. even though he's an extremely small person (comparatively) his hands are about the same.
