I am starting to learn 3x3 blindfolded, and have been having trouble with edge memo. I am progressing with Old Pochmann method for both edges and corners, and I already know how to do corner memo well (I've been practicing on 2x2).

I have tried using my fingers to track the pieces I had already solved/memorized, but there are more edges than fingers that I have. If any of you guys have tips for doing 'new cycles' in edge memorization, I would like to hear them. If anyone else has questions about 3BLD, ask away.

Accurately tracing new cycles on 3BLD is honestly something that just becomes easier over time. But here are some tips that may help you.

1. For every new cycle started, you only really need to track which piece you start the cycle on, and once you go back to that piece, the cycle is done.
As for knowing where to start a new cycle, I typically always start a new cycle on the top layer (at A, B, C, or D on Speffz). If just remembering which pieces on the top layer you have already traced is too much, you can use the finger method to track which pieces on the top layer have already been traced.

2. There is a formula for determining whether every edge piece on the cube has been traced already. The formula is...
Letters = 12 (number of edges) - 1 (buffer) - solved edges + new cycles started. So, if I had one solved edge and two new cycles, then the number of letters I should memo is 12 - 1 - 1 + 2 = 12.

Thank You, I will take this new information into my brain and use it to help my blind solving.
