I’ve been using beginners method for nearly a year and just started using f2l, using it has doubled my times and (according to my smart cube) has me doing the same number of moves. Should I just be practicing more?

this is an example of one of my solves

Just keep doing F2L. F2L gets easier as you practice more but when you start, you're times will get worse. When i started learning F2L, my times went from like 1 minutes to a minute 50, but after 2 weeks i was averaging 40 seconds

Yes, that's what happens when you change methods. Your times will improve.

This is completely normal, don't worry about it. My advice is to do solves without the timer in order to take pressure off of yourself while you're beginning to get used to and experiment with F2L. Just keep on practicing, and you'll get there, I promise.

you used beginner's for nearly a year and just started using f2l, of course you won't be so good at the start

it's normal that your times and number of moves go up after you start learning f2l, just stick to it and it will pay off
