IDK, haven't been on forums or cubing much bc I've been quite busy w/life. I'm mainly keeping my skill level with my 200ish solves per week (mainly the weekends)

QOTD (tbh maybe I should make it question of the week since I like never do it):
What do you think about 6x6 and 7x7 as wca events?
I like 6x6 and 7x7, but 7x7 more. Even though I am too slow to participate in them officially.

I personally am not a huge fan of bigger cubes (5x5 and up). I find 7x7 kind of useless though. Might as well add 8x8 at this point 😅

6x6 and 7x7 are small compared to a 21x21, they need to add bigger cubes

I disagree. Either we have the event and hold them at Wolds, or we don't have them at all.
Those events and other problematic events often cause delays in the campionships taking time away from events that more people solve and care about and removing an event entirely is bad because of the people who specialise in that event having all their practice wasted, so the compromise I created keeps championships running smother and still gives people who main the event a chance to practice it at comps that decide to include it.

Nah. Im already sad MBLD isnt done at dutch nats. I don't think graham and many others would be very happy if it wasnt held at worlds. And that is only one 'problematic event'.

At least for me, sounds very disrespectful having an event and not holding it in Worlds or any other Title awarding competition (like Nationals, for instance)
There doesn't have to no campion for the event for example in southeast championships this year FMC is not being held at the main comp but there was an FMC only comp just over a week ago and the winner of that comp will receive the title at awards for southeast champs.

I thought there was a reg saying that all official national/continental/world championships are required to hold all events

For me 6x6 and 7x7 are really interesting events and there is a lot of room for improvement.
In my opinion it would be great if 8x8 and 9x9 were added. But I find unlikely that it happens because it would take too long
8x8 uwr is 3:19.87. With yau. that's crazy!

Which is the same of saying "your event is not cool enough to be held at our comp, so we'll segregate it". I'm not against having specific event comps (even title awarding ones), but I'm very much against not having an event in comps, like Worlds, Continentals and Nationals. Have both comps, but don't segregate any event. In the specific case of FMC, I'd very much recommend having both instances. And, if anyone reads this and have a problem with two different title-awarding cops in the same year for the same region, just remember that Fina and World Athletics (for example) have both indoor and outdoor championships

7x7 is the coolest
