So the WCA just announced that they'll be taking in applications for all continental championships:

I don't know if they did a similar thing two years ago, but this is still interesting.
Pre-EDIT:
Who do you think would be plausible candidates for each one?
Here's my (probably completely wrong) opinion on plausible candidates.
Europe- Belarus or Russia. I think that we may have a euros in eastern Europe this time. I see Belarus as a really good candidate after their world's application and seeing the likely venue. (well this one was pretty off)
North America- I actually think Canada or Mexico would go for it, cause US would have Nats to think about which is a pretty big competition.
South America- SA is more of a coin toss. The region has been developing a lot and i definitely wouldn't be surprised to see a country which isn't Brazil or Argentina have a go.
Oceania- Since world's are in Australia i think New Zealand would be a more likely candidate. But I wouldn't be surprised if Australia still gets it at the end of the day.
Asia- China are definitely does i see as most likely
Africa- New up and coming region. I think the more established country is South Africa which is why i see them as the 'biggest' candidate, but i wouldn't be surprised if North
African countries give it a go.
EDIT:
WCA has now announced the candidates for every region:

I was wrong with some correct with others.
Here's my 'updated' opinions:
Europe- Read through their application... Very good not much to say. Don't think there will be any issues. Should be confirmed by end of august
North America- Kind of what i expected. US is focused on Nats so yh not much to say. If it gets confirmed i hope some people from the US attend it (if it's not the same weekend as nats lol)
South America- No applications. Kind off hoped for maybe someone to apply but still a developing region
Oceania- Happy to see Auckland applied... Hope everything is fine and they get it
Asia- This one is very interesting. As expected China applied but also 3 other countries. Korea, Kazakhstan and Malaysia all have fairly developed regions so i think anyone could take it.
Africa- Not too surprised with that. Region still fairly underdeveloped so yh.
LMK what you guys think about the applications!!
