Spring leveling such as this in mass production would be pretty sweet I reckon. The cost it would add to said production is of some concern though. Just thought it was worth sharing.

He's likely referring to the process of grinding the end of coil springs flat, rather than having most of the load taken by a couple of high-points, that wear a groove/dent in the surface they mate to.
In the 80's I ground spring ends, as part of endless modding to try and improve poor cubes. Some cube internals had the spring pressing directly on plastic, that wore away pretty quickly with stock springs.
