Hi, I've been speed cubing on 3x3 for about 7 months using the beginner method. I can solve 2x2 through 7x7, as well as some other random cube puzzles. On 3x3 I average about 36 seconds with a 27s pb, as you can see I'm inconsistent. I have officially started Fridrich training F2L and average anywhere around 35-45 seconds just on F2L(Longer than my whole beginner method). I haven't finished learning the 41 F2L algs but I'll get there. anyway I'm glad to finally be apart of the community and can't wait for my first sub 20!

Welcome! Don't learn the algs though. Learn intuitive F2l and learn algs once you get sub-30 (or 25), but just for the hard cases.

Welcome to the forum! As chickenWrap said, don't learn the F2L with algorithms. You can just watch a video on YouTube and learn it all in 10 minutes. Hope you will have fun here!

I made the mistake of solving F2L Algorithmistically. It really hurts my time now. I am doing well with intuitive now, but it is very difficult..

Welcome! I feel your pain on F2L... my times went up drastically when I first switched from Petrus.

I spent maybe a month or two doing intuitive F2L before I started learning algs. I wasn't satisfied with the inefficiency of many cases. Either way is fine and it really depends on the person. I found out I'm pretty decent at learning algorithms.

But no matter your approach to F2L, it's really important to know how each case works. Watching the pieces and seeing what each move is doing to them. Even if you learn an algorithm for a case, you shouldn't lose sight of this. Don't just blindly apply an algorithm without knowing how it works.

This is less important for OLL/PLL. For those steps, just gogogo.

Thanks man, I'll definitely stop learning algorithmic F2L and start intuitive learning. Thanks for the help and I'll post my first vid when my Fridrich is sub-30!

Hi.

Do you know 4LLL? If not, I have a guide on my website. There's a link in my signature below.

Good luck!

I actually do know 4LLL, I'm not too fast at it but I would say I'm decent. I checked out your website, pretty sweet man I have a webs.com website too. Yours is much more organized and has a cool quiz(which I took and did crappy on btw haha). I really like your 4LLL guide though it's extremely explanatory and I'm gonna use it over cubewhiz's which I've been using

I learned 2 edge orientation algs, and 4 edge perm algs, with intuitive F2L and started timing. Pumped out a 51 pb and 55 pb5. As you can see I'm dangling right around that 50 line haha. Damn you sub 50
