Hey guys!

After almost a year of work, I am super excited to announce Competition Cubes!

Competition Cubes is the world’s first Ranked non-smartcube competitive speedcubing website. Think of chess.com. or MCSR Ranked, but for speedcubing!

You can:
- Compete against random users in your skill range in real time
- Gain or lose ELO (the primary skill metric) in order to increase your rank
- Collect badges by being top 100, top 50, top 10, etc
- Track the leaderboards for users with the best ELO, Single, and Average
- and more!

Competition Cubes will be launching in Alpha on March 28th at 3 PM EST! In the meantime, you can either wait on the website or join our Discord: https://discord.gg/R2wYe3JAbZ for live updates about Competition Cube's launch!

Since Competition Cubes is launching in Alpha, there may some things missing. Most notably, 3x3 will be the only available event, as I want to ensure one event runs smoothly before adding other events. However, I do intend to release the other events shortly after launch, so keep an eye out for that!

Of course, since Competition Cubes doesn't use smartcubes, solve legitimacy obviously becomes a problem. Luckily, Competition Cubes has a fairly robust anticheat that compares your in match solve times with your official WCA solve times. If a time seems sketchy, it automatically gets reported to an moderator who will review it.

This does unfortunately mean that if you have not competed officially in 3x3, you will not be able to compete in Competition Cubes. This is definitely a priority on my list of things to do, so non WCA compatibility will be coming at some point!

I really hope you guys can make it to launch and enjoy Competition Cubes! See you all then!

This seems really cool! I’ll be watching this thread for when it releases
I figure this could also be a good trainer/simulation for H2H

Hey y'all! Just wanted to let you guys know that Private Matches should be available on launch date! This means you can challenge your friends, opponents, or viewers to private 1v1s with no time limit or anticheat. Here's the basic rundown:

  1. No anticheat
- Because the matches are private, the anticheat is disabled. Have fun trolling your friends! (Of course, PB's aren't counted in private matches)
  1. No time limit
- Private matches have no time limit! Take all the time you want to scramble or wait in between solves.
  1. No ELO or PB tracking
- Don't worry about losing ELO! Private matches are meant to be a less serious, more fun way to compete against people. And because the anticheat is disabled, PB's aren't counted. So go ahead and get that "3 second solve"😉
