Animated Avatars: Amusing or Abusing?

[Cride5]

Personally I find them quite amusing. My favourite is this one:

But what do you think? Are they fun/interesting, or do they distract too much to be worth it?

[Stefan]

They don't distract me at all, because I've disabled the avatars. Too annoying/useless/wasteful.

I think that animated avatars are so fun, like these :

OMG O.o

Terry Tate! WOHOOOOOO!

Thank you! But it seems strange that I have to disable clearly informative avatars (Hardwick´s, Pochmann´s, yours etc.) only to avoid those stupid and infantile ones.

Oh pick me, I skate.

Wait I'm not middle aged. Nevermind

Some of the avatars make my computer lag SOOO much. I don't mind Cride5's, but I've seen some that just aren't necessary.

[4Chan]

Because an 80kb limit makes your computer lag?

There aren't many animated avatars here. The ones that are here are extremely small. (cubes=life's konata avatar comes to mind)

[4Chan]

Yussss!
Kona-chan mai waifu.

The other message board I frequent has a /gif/ board.
And those gifs range from around 400kb, to over 3mbs.

80kb is nothing. D:

Well I meant the ones that people were posting... maybe it was because of how many of them there were.

That couldnt have been more that 4mb of data. You need a new computer.
