i use (youtube) oka and from like 1 hour i got down to like 13 second average. just practice finding the first block in inspection, and know what the opposite colour will be.
I'm sorry, but practise won't get you anywhere. The only thing that will is Major Permute. Only 204 algs.
How can we be expected to give you tips, without a video, breakdown, etc. All you've told us is your times and method :fp All we can tell you based on this information is practise.
sub-10 is easily achievable using LBL. You should probably use LBL until you have good tps, good look ahead etc before using Oka, which is a bit more advanced. (I assume you're talking about youtube Oka, which is different from actual Oka method)
I actually think it's a lot easier to get sub-10 with a tip first method, although I've never actually practiced a LBL method. I think it's even questionable whether I can get sub-10 on a LBL method at the moment...
I had to learn it intuitively. What I do is
-Pic a corner, not tip
-Fix tip
-Permute 2/3 edges into the corner
-Use the last edge as a "keyhole" and use it to slot in the last color centers.*
-Use a two flip(?) to put in the last edge in. *
-Permute remaining tips.
-Use any necessary flips and switches.
*You may have to play around to figure otu this part. At least for me, i did.
