hello everyone! I am excited to be here and look forward to being apart of the community. I've only been cubing for a few months. My pb is 58 seconds using the beginners method and have just begun practicing f2l. I am so very excited! I live in Hawaii for any other locals out there cubing. Thanks for having me and I am looking forward to learning from such a great community. Mahalo, Aaron

Hi aaronching808,

Once you settle in with F2L, you'll be working on Last Layer. A quick LL doesn't necessarily mean you'll have to memorize a bunch of algorithms (but more will help you be faster in the long run).

I assembled a 3x3 intermediate method called FIXLL that has a 4-Look Last Layer. My goal for it was to use the fewest number of algorithms to memorize instead of the 16 mostly unrelated ones. It uses only 9 main algorithms (in different ways) to complete the last layer in at most 4 steps.

It is set up as a "bring you own F2L" and really just focuses on the last layer.

Here's a link to the one-page quick reference guide:

I hope some of that will help you!

Thanks for the great welcome here guys. All the replies and pms with great advice are so greatly appreciated!

Thanks solvador! I'm gonna look into that for sure. I'm getting quite comfortable with f2l now. The animal story(I think that's the name) on YouTube taught me the f2l methods so quickly. I'm still wasting so much time on the white cross if anyone has any input on that.

What a great community. Thanks guys.

Hey! I see your from Hawaii! I'm currently working with a delegate to get a competition out in Honolulu! Would you be interested in coming? It would either May or June of 2018.
