Hi Everyone,

I have recently switched to Roux method, but I plan to practice a few different intuitive methods in the future. One of these is Petrus. My problem is the following:

Roux uses CMLL, but Petrus uses COLL (although it is not completely necessary)

CMLL algorithms are shorter than COLL, but they would obviously not work with Petrus method. Should I try to learn CMLL and COLL, or just COLL?

Any advice is welcome!

COLL in Roux won't give you much of an advantage over using CMLL.

When you say "practice" do you mean just use it every now and then but not in speedsolving? If so, I would just use basic things for Petrus LL.

If you want to practice intuitive methods, try Heise for a month or two and get used to it.

I guess learning COLL would be a good choice if you are are going to use Petrus more often than every now and then. But yeah, it brings your move count up in Roux solves.

Actually, when I said "practice", I meant speedsolve with and practice as much as Roux.

I plan to eventually become sub-20 or faster with both methods, and then during pre-inspection choose one depending on the scramble. I think I will go with COLL.

Thanks!

Learn COLL, and just the easiest CMLL algs. Like F R U R' U' F'. But in most cases, COLL is just as good as CMLL, I think.

Yeah, most cases. A6, E6, F6, and G2 on the CMLL table are hard to find in COLL. There are some others that have nice ones found but they are very long.
