When I get done with my solves I drop my cube and slam my hand on the timer obviously, 10% of the time it falls onto the ground and 50% of that time a center cap falls off, thats a lost center cap every 20 solves. I need advice on dropping my cube how do you guys do it I can't really tell from video solves but do you try to drop it at a certain spot or drop it on a certain side?

1. use a stackmat mat to drop it on.

2. once you get to the PLL (or your otherwise last step) start to lower the cube so that it's only a few inches off of the timer.

3. Glue the center caps down after your sure the tensions are absolutely perfect.

Instead of gluing the center cap, you can put a square piece of paper a little larger than the cap and put it under the cap. This works great for me and you can still take the cap off to adjust the screws.

When I lived in the UK Blu-Tack was as prevalent as sticky tape, but when I moved back to the US, I had a hard time finding it anywhere. It's only recently started showing up in my kids' toys, but still hardly common. It's probably a conspiracy by 3M to keep it out of the US, but it's awesome, I love it.
