This is going to be a book about a cuber who witnesses a murder. This will not involve any inappropriate content, but is going to be a mystery. And as we know, mysteries can get dark at times. If it gets too dark, please let me know. I will keep it light though!

Chapter 1: The Beginning
The chances of an average person witnessing a crime (murder to be exact) is 0.1 percent. (Roughly 1 in several thousand) and the odds are narrowed even further to being virtually zero when it comes to a speed cuber witnessing a crime. This is not the case for Travis. It all started on a typical Tuesday night.
He was just on his usual commute home from work. The bus was almost empty (as usual) and he looked forward to feeding his pet cat, Lion, and petting his pet rock, Natasha.
The bus stopped at a red light. He looked out the window, and saw down the alley way. Two men were in a heated argument. In just a 30 second period, one threw a punch to the other, knocking the other down. He stood back up, gripping his head in pain. It cracked against the brick wall. He had an occasional twitch, and rose to his opponent. The other stepped back, acting worried. The man swung a fist into the opponent's chest, swept his feet off the ground, and twisted the man's neck while he was down. And just like that, he was dead. The man twitched a bit, noticing Travis in the bus. His eyebrows furrowed, and with a deranged smile, pointed to Travis. Mouthing the words "You're next" he began laughing and pointing. "You're next"
The bus began moving. Travis pulled out his phone, calling the police about what he just witnessed. He was beginning to panic. A car was following the bus, and the police were at the crime scene. Travis had to hurry once the bus stopped at his houses corner. The car would come around any second, and he could not be seen running into his home. Just as he was shutting the door, the car came around and passed his house up, following the bus.
The next morning the police were at his home.
"Did you see his face?" An officer asked.
"He was not clear. I only saw his mouth moving and him pointing at me and laughing" Travis said, drilling pll in stress.
"Sorry, but we lack detail to keep this man away from you. For now, we advise you stick to your regular routine. We will find this man, and bring him to justice. Stay safe, Travis."
He nodded, trying to keep calm. He witnessed a murder, and the killer was hunting Travis down.

The Dispute
Now you may wonder, "Why were the the two men fighting?" Guess what? There were no men.
This is what the detectives assumed anyway.
Let me explain...
" The footage and his accusations do not make sense" detective O'Neill said. "There was that old janitor who couldn't kill a fly taking out the trash" he said to his investigation team,"taking out the garbage...either the footage was swapped or we were fooled by another psycho." O'Neill said.
"He was really nervous with that cube, sir" a colleague said. "He is all alone and was tired from a long day at work, if he did fool us or at least tried to, I think we should cut him some slack, and we reprimand him for false accusations."
Detective O'Neill nodded. "We should take into consideration the worst case scenario. If there was homicide, we should look at this from a different angle. Maybe we are looking at this all wrong. Do that for now, but if anything does rise and he was right, we will be glad he spoke when he did. As for now, look into his history and pull up his permanent record. We need to know if he is reliable or not" O'Neill said. His colleagues nodded and went to work.
...
Travis was again on the bus late at night. He was cautious and watched his back on his way home.
His routine was normal. He fed Lion and petted Natasha. He went to his cube desk and froze. His favorite cube(Aosu v7) was there.
It had one misaligned layer. "I did not leave it like that" Travis thought. "He is watching me...and he knows I am here..." Travis thought more. He heard shuffling upstairs. Just above his head, the intruder prowled. "RUN" he told himself. But his legs were noodles. Lion meowed. "I have to run..." Travis thought. He knelt down, picking up Lion. Just then, upstairs, music started playing. "I am never gonna give you up! I am never gonna let you down, never gonna run around, never gonna HURT YOU" Travis knew it. Without anymore delay, he ran outside and kept running as fast as he could into the woods. The intruder watched from the window upstairs. He glared into the night. Staring outside, his eyes rolled back, and with that he vanished. The power went out. He was gone. The chase has begun.

Chapter 2
Is there or is there not a killer is the question. If there is, he is elusive. If there isn't, then Travis ran away with Lion into the woods and away from Natasha the pet rock. This is why the police are confused.
"We just finished searching this Travis dude up" a detective told O'Neill. "He was a high school nerd and had no friends. He graduated at 17, and got a job at a factory here downtown. He is 19 and has a history of having hallucinations and seizures. He prank called us, sir"
O'Neill nodded. "We need a warrant for his arrest. Work on that now, and we will pay him a visit" O'Neill said. They made the necessary arrangements for the arrest.
Meanwhile...
The clouds rolled in, and the breeze just got chill. Lion meowed. Travis was still sprinting away from everyone.
"I think I lost him," he said, putting Lion down. He stopped. "Been a while since we could get some fresh air..." Travis told his cat, who was sitting down and looking up at him. "Meow?"
Travis sat down. "What am I running from? Where am I?" he wondered. He heard a twig snap from behind him. Spooked, Travis froze. He was not alone.
"I can see you..." a whisper said. "I have been here this whole time...and I have been watching you..." The whisper continued. Travis was hyperventilating. He keeled over, twitching. It was beginning.
Footsteps neared him. "I did this to you..." The whisper said. "And I will not stop until you are gone..." The whispered leaned down. "I am your worst nightmare..."
...
The police were in Travis' home. "Why was his door unlocked?" O'Neill asked. "Everything is still here.He took nothing and appeared to be in a rush" O'Neill said.
"Maybe this is why" a colleague said, pointing at a light switch. It was flipping up and down by itself.
"His house is haunted" the colleague said. "Of course he ran"
"Wrong. His house is not, it is just an old and worn out spring behind the switch. I dealt with this before" O'Neill said.
"I am keeping this" another colleague said."A pet rock. He has her labeled 'Natasha'" he continued.
"It is evidence. Put it back, @HellHeater"O'Neill said. He bagged Natasha. Hellheater was his nickname. He slipped Natasha into once she was released from the evidence room and lived happily with her new owner.
"There was a door bell cam across the street" a colleague said. "I will check it out"
O'Neill nodded. "What is that noise?" He asked.
"Here"
A device was producing a familiar tone. Rick Roll.
"Turn it off" O'Neill said. "Nothing makes sense here. Is there or is there not a killer?"
