What is a super 2x2x2? Well, a 2x2x2 are 8 corners so a super 2x2x2 must be 8 x 2x2x2's in the shape of a cube... a 4x4x4!
Ok, but the functionallity? Can we simulate this on the 4x4x4?
All corresponding layers on each 2x2x2 moves the same, a U on one of them is a U on all of them.
Let's say it's green in front and white U, what if we do a U-turn?
Twist U on all 2x2x2's and green will move to the R-side, the rest of the colours follows, as always when twisting a layer. After that is done we will see all cubes shows the same colours in all directions and that is exactly what happens if we instead of only U also do a d' on the 4x4x4!
Now the fun starts:
If you scramble a 4x4x4 all the time doing face turns and the corresponding opposite side slice, examples: (U d') (R l') (B f') and so on, then you can solve the cube by only solving one of the eight 2x2x2's if you keep doing the parallell turns.
I tried it and used Ortega, recognition: you can only see 50% of the stickers of each 2x2x2 but because all are the same you can figure out the cases by looking at the diffrent sides of the diffrent 2x2x2's. solving: here is the weird part: use your alg you would have used on the 2x2x2 on the 4x4x4 (U d' style, example: Sune = R l' U d' R' l U d' R l' U2 d2 R' l) This way you will solve 8 x 2x2x2's in one go!
Ok, who's the first to set a sub 10?
