I've recently gotten my 4x4x4 cube, I can manage to get 1 center done without to much trouble. Now, I don't remember which side has what color, so is there a way I can orient myself? Also, is there any algorithm for solving the centers?
Uhm. If I use Japanese color scheme but for normal I use Thrawst's blue-mustard-blood thing, as in you look blue yellow and red going clockwise and then you just do the opposite colors. If that made any sense
I do admit this. I learned to solve the 4x4 by Dan Brown's Youtube tutorials. But I did not use his last layer and parity bits. They sucked badly.
But right up to that point his 4x4 videos are quite good. So I learned to solve the six centres from his videos.
So here is my method for solving the centres. This is the way Dan Brown does it too. Solve the green centre. Flip cube 180 degrees. Solve the blue centre. Put green side of the left and blue side on the right. Solve the orange (or purple on an Eastsheen cube) centre between green and blue. Then put the orange centre (purple on an ES) on the back face. And then solve the yellow centre on the up face. The last two are easy. The white or black centre is 180 degrees from the yellow centre. And the red centre is 180 degrees from orange/purple.
Sounds really hard. But with lots of solves, it becomes automatic.
