Hi guys. I just joined the forums, although I have visited many times and gotten a lot of great advice regarding cubing.
Recently I have been working on solving supercubes of higher orders, mostly 4x4's and 5x5's. The ones that I have been using the most are Ruben King Cubes, Shepherd's Cubes and the Pochmann variant. Most of these I have been able to solve without too much trouble, including the parity issues. The one that seems to give me the most problem however is the 4x4 Ruben King Cube.
I use the same method that I use for my Pochmann 4x4 (solves perfect everytime, without center parity or OLL/PLL parity giving me a hard time) and it seems that on certain solves (about 1 in 3) I will end up with a parity problem involving the top center being off by just 90 degrees (all other centers are right). I have read that this really can't happen, unless your cube is screwed up. As this is not the case, as it solves fine the rest of the time, I am not sure what I am doing wrong. It seems either that I am doing something wrong with the PLL parity when it occurs or I am just doing something fundamentally wrong when I first orient the top center, which I do after orienting the top edges and corners. The OLL parity does not give me any problems either.
I have searched this forum and the web for help and have yet to find much. Any help or guides you guys may have in solving the 4x4 Ruben King Cube would be greatly appreciated.
Again, great site, I look forward to being a member and not just looking around!
