I got a few questions..normally I wouldn't start a thread, but Im raging right now

Ok so I used to practice a lot of 4x4, then i quit for 2 days because of IRL stuff. Then I just picked it up again a few days ago.. Before I quit I was avging easily sub 1:40, probably around 1:39 if i did an ao50, and my pb ao12 was 1:36

But now I suck, like I get plenty of sup 2 minute times ( not a lot), but my average has risen to probably around 1:47, is this normal? I can not seem to get a 1:40 avg anymore. It feels like I can not look ahead.

Also, I hate my XCube, well more like its unusable. I like my brothers. I also have a Maru 4x4. Is there any way to prevent core misallignments? I cant even finish centers without one happening. :/ I main with the Dayan right now, but I can't turn mega fast on 3x3 because I am afraid of pops. Is there any suggestions to either lessen the pops or any recommendations of other 4x4 cubes I should try?

Thanks

I'd recommend sticking with the X-cube. Just play around with it to stabilise it.

As for the times, there is no such thing as "normal". People go through on and off patches. Sometimes you take a break and improve. Sometimes you take a break and get worse. The only thing for it is to keep practising.

I meant what I said about it not being usable :P My animal bit some of the edge pieces when I left them out after cleaning. I had done a few hundred solves on it but its pretty rough still. Dayan is pretty smooth with lubix on core and maru on outer layers. I am in contact with XB about getting another XCube from him. Dayans nice and all but...it is pretty big (thats what Ryans ex said ;) ) lol joey Thanks

edit: Also thanks for telling me to stick with it, I just got a few sub 1:40 times with a 1:30 in there too. And I havent got a sup 2 solve in a bit. Finally it seems I am stabalizing a bit..

haha i always do toilet solves! in fact, at home, toilet solves account for about 1/2 of the solves that i do at home! since they are untimed, i just practice lookahead and look for cool stuff. at the very least, my OLL/PLL recognition has gotten better from toilet solves. i only do 2,3,4 on the toilet. and i tend to use toilet safe cubes (guhong wont pop when going slow, and a mefferts 4x4. . mine wont pop) so, no problem!

the whole purpose of the toilet solve is to get me in the mindframe of looking ahead and to think about things like creative crosses, predicting CLL from inspection (15+seconds) etc.

to keep dayan from popping it is about tensioning and of course the way you turn. . the maru, im looking for that answer as well.. ive been told that tightening it works but ive had no success... i found after i cleaned it out and relubed it it stopped for a little while, but it goes right back to suck again after a few solves. .

i use a shengshou... the Dayan+MF8 i thought was too bulky, i found it hard to finger trick. The SS is the perfect size for me but does lock up at times. not too bad tho... i really love the way it feels. Tho i got a X Cube in the mail so i prolly wont be using the SS for long
