I was solving my 4x4 and remembered that it can be solved as a 2x2 if scrambled turning 2 rows at a time. However I thought about it again and realized that maybe the centers can be solved like this as it is as easy as solving a 2x2. Since solving a 2x2 takes most people under 10 seconds if not under 5 for some people, I thought that maybe this would be a very efficient way of doing the centers. Just a thought.

I have had this thought before. However the 4x4 centres actually act as a 2x2 where you can rotate stickers on just one face as well as turning layers. So, you could have a "2x2" piece with two of the same colour. If you could find an easy method to put the centres into a position that is possible on a 2x2, it would be possible.
