So, I was turning my 4x4 cube when I turned too hard and the plastic just popped right out. Now, I've got a piece of plastic cube shaped (excluding the side that ripped) and a piece inside the actual cube that was connecting this piece to the rest of the cube. Can I just glue it back on or what?

Don't use glue. Sounds like you just had a pop. Very normal. Follow this video:

Oh my cubes have popped out normally before. I thought my 4x4 also popped, but I realized the plastic itself has broken in two pieces.

Speaking of pops I've popped my 3x3 open a fair share for cleaning purposes, but I'm trying to say that the plastic broke off. So I've got this cube completely detached from the part of it inside the 4x4. I'm going to get a replacement anyway, but is gluing the broken piece back on a good idea for preserving it? I'd still like it to be somewhat turn-able.

Edit:
Can you take a picture so we better understand?
Not really, I don't have a camera or phone available to use right now.

I would use glue. I did the same thing for my two by two, and even though the piece is a little wiggly and can snap back off if you pull to hard, it's still works fine for speedcubing.

Please don’t glue your puzzles. It can and likely will completely destroy your puzzle.

Just order a replacement part. It is not likely to stay together with glue.
