If you have 8 on the yellow face with one missing corner I wonder if there are faster ways of 2 cases of getting the missing yellow corner in place.

1 Missing yellow is top right on front face

6 twists R' D R F D F'

2 yellow is on front layer right on white face (bottom)

5 twists R' B' D2 B R

The other 4 cases are either solved mirrors or easy
With the 6 cases 0 3 3 5 6 6 twists

Hi there! From your post, I'm assuming you start your solves with the yellow face, which you hold on top. If this is not the case, this reply may not be as relevant.

For case 1, a faster option would be R' D R D' R' D R. Yes, this is 7 moves (twists) instead of 6, but the timer doesn't care how many moves you do, only how fast you do them. These 7 moves can be done faster than the 6 you mentioned. Note that this does not have to be the case if you still use wrist turns.

For case 2, again, if you use wrist turns your solution is probably fine. I think most people would do a slightly more intuitive R' D2 R D R' D' R. Again, more moves than your solution, but B moves are often worth avoiding.

In general, I highly recommend solving the first face on the bottom. This changes all D moves to U moves, which are a lot more accessible.
