All the original megaminxes had no ridges, so I just chose not to change. Also, I feel the ridges interrupt lookahead a little bit.

The latter

It's probably because you can't fully see faces of the Megaminx that is turning due to camera angle and the angle at which the puzzle is held.

I think 6 seconds star is more impressive than 16-17 seconds F2L.

EDIT: just until I actually tried timing it xD nothing in F2L was impressive, S2L+LL was though
