3x3 One side help

So I have this comp with 3x3 one side as an unnofficial event, but I kinda suck at it. My average time is 10 seconds, which is embarasingly slow. Does anyone have any tips? The method I use is just find an optimal cross and insert corners with R U R'
try to find a cross that also solves some of the corners

You can think of solving one side as building a pseudo Roux first block, then finishing the last three pieces of the side.

Practicing some basic Roux techniques, or even incorporating elements from Hoya or Yau, can be really helpful.

Perhaps this link could be helpful: First-Layer Techniques. It's focused on solving the first layer, but the same principles apply to solving just one side, offering even more flexibility.
