I got my 2x2 Lan Lan 2 days ago and I am able to average between 8-10 seconds and my PB single is 3 seconds. I want to move onto a faster method that will get me about
sub 5 average? And what is CLL?

Learn Ortega. You only have to learn a small amount of algorithms, and you can sub 5 with practice.

CLL stands for Corners of the Last Layer. After you solve the first layer you use one of the 42 CLL algorithms to solve CO and CP.

ortega vs solving like 3x3 for 2x2. which is faster? cuz im using my very locky and slow eastsheen 4x4 as a 2x2 and i can get 5 sec solves with cfop.... im getting a lanlan 2x2 in november.

Ortega is faster. You can make your first layer however you want, and the PBL's are really short algs.

The Lan Lan 2x2 is good, I use it as my main. But I might suggest looking into the Wit Two (not sure of the name, but it's the one from WitEden.) I've only seen one review of it but it looks amazing.

need a really good excuse to get a wit two 2x2.... my parents are already like "why do u need more cubes? you have like a million of them" (i own 11 cubes, 4 are 3x3s)
but i saw a couple reviews and it does look amazing(cuz its basically a dayan with 2x2 shells).... might try to pay one of my friends to buy one for me and say they gave it to me for my birthday or something....

how many algorithms do you need to learn if you're switching from cfop? (got a little confused after not requiring solving a whole layer cuz im not used to it)
