2x2 - Help for a semi-begginer :P

Okay, so lately I've been trying to do the 2x2 and I'm currently doing the method where you make the first layer then OLL and PLL. I suck at the first layer and I can't seem to look ahead I just don't get how people do the first layer so quickly with only a few moves Also, would you recommend Ortega for me? I think that might be easier? Please help!

sure, try ortega. you might like it. i think it sucks though and i'm faster with LBL. also i dont know how i do the first layer, i just do it.

Ortega is pretty great. Few algorithms, and you can get reasonably fast with it.

Look for triggers, or common sequences of moves in the different algorithms.
Just keep doing them to get it into your muscle memory.
Practice.

I say Ortega. But ppl get rly fast with LBL / CLL but I think Ortega then EG ftw. I'm not fast with it only coz i don't practice 2x2 but I rly think Ortega is the way to go. Let me know if you want my algs ([email protected])
