This is the thread where I get suggestions/tips from other cubers. Please offer advice if you have any.

The Cube:
♦ DaYan 6 PanShi:
♦ Tightly tentioned to reduce popping
♦ Torpedoes taken out to reduce catching
♦ Not Lubricated

The Method:

Step 1: Cross
♦ Just your typical Cross, used in CFOP & Beginners
Step 2: F2L
♦ Matching up 4 Corner/Edge pairs to insert them into
the correct positions
Step 3: Last Layer
♦ The Beginners Method Last Layer
♦ Bottom Cross
♦ Orientation of Last Layer Corners
♦ Permutation of Last layer Corners

Priority List:
♦ 2-Look OLL
♦ 2-Look PLL
♦ Look-Ahead
♦ Cross on Bottom
♦ Sub 2 Cross
♦ Better Fingertricks
♦ 1-Look OLL
♦ 1-Look PLL
♦ Color Neutrality
♦ Forced Last Layer Skip Techniques

If you have a moment, please respond with your suggestions!

My opinion of best order.

2-look pll
2-look oll
Better fingertricks (what is meant by this?)
Color neutrality (not required to be fast btw)
1-look pll
Sub-3 cross
Look ahead
1-look oll

LL skip tricks are stupid. The only ones you should know are to do R U2 R' or R' F R F' to insert a pair.

I think he meant skips in the last layer, not complete last layer skips.

OP: a last layer skip is one where the last layer ends up solved. Usually people just force part of it to be solved like EO or CO.

COLL can be used to gain a 1/12 chance PLL skip and Winter Variation can be used to force OLL skip with any last slot case with all edges oriented. There are other substeps as well but I think both these examples are best used with an EO method...

Like TheNextFeliks says, they should be very low (if at all) on your list. They don't help much. If you continue with CFOP focus your alg sets on OLL/PLL.

Forget writing a long list. Pick one or two things to focus on and see where it takes you. 4LLL is a good first target. Learn finger tricks as you go. Don't settle for algs you don't like - look for alternatives. Habits are hard to break so get good algs and tricks in place before you practice them for weeks.

Also, do cross on bottom, and last layer on top. And lube your cube.

My advice? Take advantage of the loads and LOADS of resources and advice that already exist on this forum. The amount of information is absolutely incredible if you're willing to just take a second and actually look for them.

I'm sure learning ZBLL would help.

Q ~ Q ZBLL Has 400+ Algorithms, but I'm not really worried about skip techniques right now, because it's on the bottom of my list.

EDIT: I changed the Cross Explanation

I'm buying 30K Weight Differential Oil from TheCubeSpecialists, and I added Cross on Bottom into the list, because I think its important. I'm not focusing on the whole priority list at the same time, xD. The list is in order from the Top to the Bottom. It wouldn't make sense if I did the whole list at the same time, simply because it is overwhelming.

I have all the algorithms for Step 1 of 2-Look OLL, because I used it in beginners method. My Sune algorithm is R U R' U R U2 R', it was easy because it was the exact same algorith I use for Permuting the Cross in beginners. My Anti-Sune algorithm is my Sune algorith reversed.

By the time you conquer the first 1-2 things on your list, you might change your mind about what's next. You should always try to be aware of where your weaknesses are, and focus your practice on those. Each time you fix a weakness, something else emerges as your new weakness. Enjoy the process of learning and getting faster, keep reading this forum, and keep an open mind about what to do next. People on here are generally helpful and supportive and you'll pick up lots of new ideas along the way.
