Frameworks: A structured approach to Roux blocks

Yes, this is just a general explanation for how to actually blockbuild fb (the general approach can actually be extended to inspection of any step, really). For oh specifically, I encourage mindfulness when it comes to the ergonomics of the blocks you're doing as well. Pretty much any FB...

Frameworks: A structured approach to Roux blocks

Hi all, I made a thing: Frameworks: A structured approach to Roux blocks Basically if you want to start using roux, this is how you should approach blocks (which I know is usually the sticking point). I've discussed this idea informally for a while, but I've finally gotten around to writing up...

High level speedsolving, the convergence of methods and method development

Finally some discussion on the actual shape of methodspace! Reading through the post, it seems like this idea of convergence is similar to the optimisation which I outlined in the top-down vs bottom-up method development strategies thread a while back (which hopefully means that both are...

How many of these methods have you heard of?

No one knows CDLSS? I'm disappointed.

Well, I hope he doesn't so that I can keep my NRs and have a shot at ERs lol

    On Key Steps and Meta-methods

I think the general idea of is kind of similar but, if my recollection of duplex serves me well, that method is more to do with finding the smallest and fastest combination of algs to solve LL whereas this is much more general (and much more focused on semi-intuitive ideas and (almost) avoiding...

    On Key Steps and Meta-methods

I'll start with a warning: much of this post will be speculative and purely based on commonalities which appear to exist in all decent methods (in my experience anyway). As such, I will structure it in 3 parts: prerequisite ideas, reasonably concrete and immediate consequences and then blatant...

    [Unofficial] 14.90 OH ao5 (Beginner's 42)+ a completely scuffed 13.51 single I didn't count for obvious reasons

https://1drv.ms/b/s!ApfSlXDznkdsm1Va9rzIbUXWHJgy This is a pdf of all the cases. The recognition is more or less the same as cmll (ocll+opp/adj colours) but you take into account the location of an extra corner

    [Unofficial] 14.90 OH ao5 (Beginner's 42)+ a completely scuffed 13.51 single I didn't count for obvious reasons

It's just the most basic "reduce to LSE while trying to get a nice case" thing so nothing special. I have been practising EO+FR (and control ULUR) but I haven't quite trained my brain to work in the conjugated space properly yet so I'm still faster with the more basic and ugly version :/ Cool...

The New Method / Substep / Concept Idea Thread

In my estimation, it's probably about the same speed with fewer algs. On the other hand, it does have the disadvantage of not really having anywhere to progress to so if you want to be really fast at mega (pushing world class and stuff), you'd probably be better off learning and using 3lll.

The New Method / Substep / Concept Idea Thread

This idea has been around for a fair while (I even posted a couple variations on the method back in 2016/17 that I called megatripod and minitripod though the basic idea far predates them most likely). I actually still implement a minor variation of minitripod in my mega solves because I've...

[Help Thread] Cubing for 10 months but only average 35 help

How exactly are you practising? Do you do 20 minutes a day, or a couple hours in a big session on Saturday? If it's the former, I would suggest switching to the latter and trying to be faster with every solve (rather than just mindlessly solving)

    [Unofficial] 11.45 beginner's 42 ao5 + 9.74 single

Someone got me to do a few 42 solves on stream but I got called for lunch. I was curious as to what sort of times I could get nowadays and got this on cam when I came back and decided to do a few more solve. I'm not 100% sure exactly how good this is because I got it pretty quickly but I...

    Roux-breaker? The YruRU method

If you've been reading this as about names, then you've been reading the conversation on a very surface level. But I've had enough. I won't be posting on the subject again.

    Roux-breaker? The YruRU method

Except most of the reason I use it in B2 is to reduce the case count so I can do fancier things like BLS. Just using it for 2-gen cmll isn't really worth it. This is true This does also have merit. However, I must point out that 2-gen is barely any better than 3-gen. As I said above, B2 does...

    Roux-breaker? The YruRU method

Do we though? What makes Leor and roux obvious and m-cell non-obvious?

    Roux-breaker? The YruRU method

So is a method only "obvious" if you think of it? With regards to the Leor comment, that was developed *from* my post not vice versa. B2 additionally does influencing beyond what is done in roux. Does that make it a non-obvious continuation?
