Yeah, just got the Duo. It shaved a significant amount of time off my Ao5. However not everyone will find the same. It's a matter of less pain and tiredness in my fingers compared to other heavier/slower cubes. I find it puts less strain on fingers too because it can be looser without being so...
What are the recommendations for 8x8 and up? I prefer stickleress but not a deal breaker over quality. Well 8x8 and up to a reasonable size. Not gonna drop hundreds of dollars for the crazy 21x21 or anything.
Also interested in non WCA size megaminxes. I really enjoy megaminx so I want to try...
I think you may be on to something. My arthritic hands/fingers find heavy/slow cubes hard to use. The RS3M is heavier than the Gan cubes, but I'm guessing the actual cubies are quite light compared to older cubes. Not so much the weight of the entire cube, it's how heavy a side feels when trying...
Does anyone find that the really new cubes don't need fancy lubes? I'm still very new to cubing, and watching lube videos I noticed something. The older the video the worse the advice is for new cubes. If the cube age is roughly the same as video age is works well.
Example: An old cube I got...
For the 21 x 21 I think it was more of a proof of existence thing. This is not just a rumor like possibly the 23x23 is. Nope, the 21 x 21 is in fact a real thing you can buy. I'm guessing his hand injury was bothering him, and he said he would send it to JPerm for a better review.
I saw it more...
I'm still very new to puzzles so it's hard to truly comment on quality from brand to brand. Mostly will be general enjoyment of puzzles no matter the brand. (Mostly)
Puzzles I was excited for but sit on the shelf, Pyraminx, and Skewb. Then there is the Square one. Was so excited to get it, but...
I finally have the 4x4- 7x7 YJ MGCs. As I heard the was a really solid line up.
Is there a 2x2 or 3x3 MGC that is as good as the bigger cubes? Or should I just stick with the already known good 2x2s and 3x3s?
Thanks, I went with the MGCs and the Dayan. (Free shipping and better discount codes for hitting a price threshold made it worth the extra few dollars)
Tore it down and wiped it off thoroughly. Then lubed it with the Angstrom lubes and re-assembled it. The U/D layers were looser, but still slow. Tightened the slice a bit so it didn't freely spin a full turn, then added DNM-37 to the top, and bottom. in that little floral pattern area. Then in...
I learned from like 6 different sources. I'd get stuck on a step, and then look for other sources that made that step better for me. I started with the rubiks site, and I found some of it technically right, but still confusing to a beginner. Like instead of an M move, they had the cube rotated...
I just got a Square 1 XMan Volt 2 fully magnetic. The slice layers are very smooth and easy to turn, but the up and down face are very tight and hard to turn.
I know nothing of how the internals work, so is there a way to loosen the U/D without messing with the slice?
Guaranteed to have WOW flow, and much speedy. I can appreciate what they are doing, even though the translation sounds weird to me.
(Based on what we found in our lab, it make be different in reality)
