I'm definately going to do some slow solves to see if I do it in a fix routine or not, thanks for the warning

Good. The earlier, the better. I see using CFOP as a bad habit for me, and I now can't stop using it I would recommended trying to start the good habits (i.e. being y-axis neutral) early on too, but I think you should get more comfortable with EO before trying that. After you're reasonably confident with EO, try to learn y-axis neutrality, but for now don't worry about it. You have enough to do already

Got my 100th timed solve today
In the last session I got quite a few sub 2min, and I'm happy with that since a few days ago I was around 2.5-3 min, so yay!

Blockbuilding is hard for us CFOP folks. Taking up Petrus or ZZ as your first method is a brilliant way to get your head right from the beginning.

Because if you don't understand all the different color schemes early on, it's hard to get started when you are already used to another scheme.

Just a little progress report: ~200 timed solves in my first two weeks. It seems I'm quite a slow learner, but there is some progress nonetheless

My stackmat&timer just arrived with the mail, and it has a data port!
I was a little worried, because from the pics it seemed like it has one, but it does not have save+arrow buttons like all the ones I've seen around the internet.
It's probably an older model, who knows... I'll get a cable in the next few days, and hopefully it will work with prisma.

youre probably not a very slow learner. sub1min in 2 weeks is pretty good and 200 solves in 2 weeks is honestly not very much. just keep it up!

I'm determined to keep it up since I really enjoy twisting the cube

I solved way more than 200, these are just the timed ones. I did lots of slow solves to practice f2l for example.
Now when I'm concentrating hard, I can usually get a 50-70s solve (pb is 44:98), so the next "big" goal is to get consistently sub 60s in two more weeks.
Hopefully I can connect the stackmat to prisma, if that happens, I'll try to do at least 50 timed solves a day.
