Alright, so just for reference, click here (a sport stacking competition training, which finds your overall).
I've been thinking about how sport stacking has competition trainings, while cubing has no direct preparation for competitions. It could surely add some fun to cubing if we had competition trainings! No, not a relay, but here's how it works:
Kind of a general post which will be edited a lot later on, feel free to add ideas!
Comp trainings aren't done before comps only, they're just named that because it's all about consistency and pressure! They also are very similar to competitions. By the way, I made it trios because stacking has 3 events in comp trainings, and I feel that that is a perfect amount of events. So go ahead and try out some comp trainings and have fun!
EDIT5: I did 3x3luver, here are my (very very bad) times and the correct format:
Have fun with this!
EDIT: CLARIFICATION, there is no rolling of any kind in this, just like the sport stacking version. It's all about consistency, so just remember that! Feel free to ask any questions/add add anything, once again.
EDIT2: Thanks to Lucas for helping me with this!
EDIT3: CLARIFICATION: You may start over as much as you please, but make sure to get rid of ALL solves from ALL events! e.g. If you are doing a 3x3luver and you ended with feet and you failed and you wanted to restart because mean of 3, you have to restart OH and 3x3, too!
EDIT4: Also, make sure to fully reset the session! Even if it is your first event of the trio, there is NO rolling allowed.
c'mon guys, just do an event people haven't competed in to get easy #1's.
I've been thinking about how sport stacking has competition trainings, while cubing has no direct preparation for competitions. It could surely add some fun to cubing if we had competition trainings! No, not a relay, but here's how it works:
1. Pick a trio of events.
Some good combinations are:
Little Cubes: 2x2, 3x3, 4x4
Big Cubes: 5x5, 6x6, 7x7
Main Side Events: Pyra, Mega, Sq-1.
Unpopular Events: Feet, Clock, EDIT: Skewb cuz officialness, not sq-1.
BLD: 3BLD, 4BLD, 5BLD.
3x3luver: 3x3, OH, Feet (or 3BLD, but thats called 3x3'n'BLDluver)
Unofficial Events: Magic, Master Magic, Skewb. EDIT: AND NOW SKEWB IS OFFICIAL!!! This lasts as a good mix until 2014...
Morph - 3x3, 3x3x4, Megaminx
Baby Cubes - 2x2, 3x3, Pyraminx
Sorry FMC/MBLD lovers, we can't include you...
Any trio you want! These are unlimited (well, not literally because there are only so many puzzles)
2. Do an average of 5/mean of 3/single on each event.
Do the greatest possible average on each (e.g. ao5 on 5x5, mo3 on 6x6, best of 3 on BLDs). Write down the average and the best single from each one (or make new sessions in qqtimer).
3. Add up the times.
Add up your average from each event (if available) and add up your best single from each event.
4. Find your times!
So, their are competition training single and averages (the overall). At this stage you will know your comp training average and comp training single!
