How I should continue?

binomdreher, you use 4Look last layer right? in that case, practice your f2l recognition by doing cases from different angles, and just doing f2ls over and over again. at the same time, go back to LBL for a short while, and practice looking for and 'tagging' the corners during cross and first corner. after practising this a bit, and being able to 'tag' at least two at once, go back to f2l, and do the same, except this time with the next pair. practice making the transitions between cases smooth. you dont have to practice doing quick moves AT ALL. i actually recommend slowing down A LOT for this. even augment your cases to make the next one easier. This is the beginning of an advanced trick called multislotting, which even as a relative beginner you should still start practising.
although you average 50+, you can start practising look ahead as soon as possible.
so...
- practice lbl look ahead, at the same time as practising f2l cases regularly (and from different angles)
- move to f2l look ahead, and practice your intuitive f2l (it best be intuitive dammit!)
- begin learning the PLLs (i suggest T and Y first)
- read this forum a lot...
- when you are averaging around 30-40, practice multislotting. there are various threads around :)
- learn a little LL control...
you can progress just as fast as cyber, particularly if you have been cubing a bit longer but haven't progressed as quickly so far (your brain will be a little more 'geared up').
i promise you, that with enough practice on f2l, in a fortnight you will have cut your times by 10s.
(p.s get a DIY:D)

Hi Escher, thanks for your response! I have ad DIY, Im quite satisfied with it, so its totally up to me to reduce the times XD I'm using 4-Look L-layer, while learning some "full-PLLs" one by one every few days (cause i would have to learn them anyway). But the last layer is not much of a problem - my fingertricks just have to be improved a bit (actually i only know RU'R' and R'U2R' as "tricks") but that should come by itself i guess.

The point is that I often read "things will come to you naturally over time" as you practice, but it seems that it is not the case -_- I'm doing intuitive F2l since over a month now and I'm still having problems to see the next pair while inserting another ( i must admit that i often have to look at the current pair still cause i try to insert them from any place on the cube).
Same with the cross - since 2 weeks i try to do it on the bottom but I cant "predict" all the moves to be made, so i have to watch the cubies and the bonus of "look ahead" while cross is gone...
But i guess i will really slow yet more down while practicing and hope for the "click" XD

@Cyber: sorry for little off-topic, im not trying to steal your thread :P

Np BinomDreher... Just do it again! Im just happy if u can make some chat here during my progress raporting and other hints! :D And Im gonna write to u more when I have time to do it...not much at night and during class time! ;D Im gonna response after some classes. In 3 hours :P

Btw. I just heard great song but I dont know what it was! xD

He said something about it in the bottom of page 7 in this forum.... U should read it I think and what ever he said before in this foum. Hope that he has marked everything down to explain more :)

Ps. See new AVATAR! <------------ :D:D:D
Just wait...I will get it :D:D:D

The comp class was packed when I was going to write this and I can´t do it! Now I can :P

Im always happy when some1 wants to know something about my progress :D True, I wrote a message before about my progress but it is bit long and confusing I think. let me tell this bit later...first training time table :P

1 week - record 74sec - Avarage 83sec - training beginners method - record using Beginners method
2 week - record 58sec - Avarage 65sec - training F2L - - - - - - - - - record using Beginners method
3 week - record 46sec - Avarage 58sec - training F2L 3LLL - - - - - - record using F2L Beginners LL
4 week - record 43sec - Avarage 54sec - training 3LLL(PLL) - - - - - - record using F2L 3LLL
5 week - record 30sec - Avarage 37sec - training Finger Tricks, Grips - record using F2L 3LLL
6 week - record 22.30 - Avarage 32.63 - training OLL - - - - - - - - - record using F2L 3LLL
7 week - record 22.30 - Avarage 29.31 - training OLL - - - - - - - - - record using F2L 3LLL
8 week - DUNNO - - - - DUNNO - - - - - - training OLL - - - - - - - - - record using F2L 2LLL xD

Learning 3LLL instead of 4LLL makes 8-10sec difference for u so I think it is the fastest way to drop ur avarage. U can find it here http://badmephisto.dyndns.org/site/2LookOLL.pdf all are good algs except "car" -> Do this instead, turn cube 90 degree and do this R U R' U R U' R' U R U2 R' It is faster especially with right grip.

Then I would like to disagree answer about the cube and lube in another forums. Cube makes difference. Even storebought cube can be great also. And ur DIY cube can be good. Just try to break it in RIGHT way. If ppl just lube their cubes right away it would be hard to break it in and that way they get slower for a little time.

Just take time for ur cube to break it in! CAUSE IT MAKES ME 15-20sec FASTER THAT OLD WITHOUT LUBE!

U dont need to even think that u are trying to find another pair during training. Just do that in actual solves cause ur look ahead will increase without thoughts also... Don´t try to learn finger trick. Let ur body learn ur own tricks when it is time. U will feel speed during solves LATER.

And with some things, I agree with Escher! Dont try multislotting now and read this full forum and stuff what is ahead... coming soon stuff :P And write something when ever u feel so! Brains can be geared up but be careful, dont store bad stuff. Just main and important things to u! Either, dont rush with 2LLL it is waist of time till u have sub 40sec atleast.

And "things will come to you naturally over time". This is the absolute truth! But some stuff u need to learn. Im soon in this case, I know everything that I need to but the speed for theses stuff, It needs a lot of time!

CROSS ON THE BOTTOM! YEAH! :P Try to fill back slots during F2L but if u need to move B-layer I think it is better to turn cube for now. It also let u see maybe another pair in back slot.

And no worry... Off topic is fine. Forum is for every1 who need help with next steps like I do! :P

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With excelent cube, lube, controll, bottom cross, intuitive F2L and 3LLL u will be able to get sub 40sec easily. During 3LLL u will learn F2L also and it will make u sub 30sec after 3LLL. And soon after that sub 25 and so on...

5 week - record 30sec - Avarage 37sec - training Finger Tricks, Grips - record using F2L 3LLL

Where did you find these finger tricks and stuff? I've never looked at finger tricks and grips, I just created them myself, and focused on the actual processs of solving the cube rather than the way I'm turning it. I'm pretty sure that's much better to do so.

That was the week... In that week I thought that I already knew enought. I was wrong! Now learning much more! I just consetrated to rotate my hands as little as possible and use fingers. U right, it is better to learn ur own finger tricks and that was the thing. I learned my own stuff whole week to get faster and it was worth it!

17sec AVARAGE DROP!

So I think sometimes it is moreeffective to focus how to turn cube. I think it was useful for me cause I cant focus it at all for fast avarage drop from the start! Anyway, here is my nowadays solve, bit better than avarage but fine! See it :D This is my solve after...

7 WEEKS!

Check it:

And again the same uestion: When they gonna change this to speed forum!?

And again the same question: When they gonna change this to speed forum

That is definitely a plausible question, but I think because it was started here in the first place, the fact that the contents changed to be more advanced doesn't matter. It would be benificial to beginners to see how real progress is done anyway! =]

It was in speed forum but they changed it in beginners forum!!! It was nooby...Does it make difference? Anyway Im happy if beginners follow my example ;D

Thx... A LOT! It makes me even more ambition and faster :D:D:D
Time to go and learn all OLLs finally! xD
Then time to sleep :P 6 days for next goal ->

It's been fun watching this. I've been speedcubing for a year and a half (although admittedly most of my time has gone towards BLD), and you'll probably be passing me in a week or two. (And I already do know all the OLLs. My best average is 26.37.)

Anyway, I just wanted to say that it's really fun to see what obsession allows one to do. Thanks for this running log - I'm looking forward to seeing how it continues. (I'm also curious to see how long your obsession will continue.)

"Learning 3LLL instead of 4LLL makes 8-10sec difference"
Wow. You have a ridiculously slow recognition time if it takes that much off. Mine took maybe 4 seconds off my average.

hawkmp4, i suppose that if you only knew 4LLL for a very short time before you started 3LLL, its a bit more understandable.

i quite like that little youtube clip. i would suggest that now you need to increase your turning speed. your f2l seems relatively smooth (although your cross could improve), so just practice doing lookahead at high speeds, and i reckon your LL could speed up too.
Do a few PLL time attacks and aim for at least 1:15, if not sub 1.
In no time you'll be hitting sub-20s :)

Ok Im finally nearly done! Just 4 last cases...
Tatal 10 days for 57algs...Im soooo slow -_-'
Now I just need to take time to do them fast! Maybe 4-5 days...

Oh great, a lot ppl are following my topic...thx for info xD All others can write something too when they see this message(if they see).

Im trying to do F2L fast but it is hard to see potential of F2L cause Im focusing for LL for a week...then it is time to learn fast F2L and I got still some look ahead difficulties with F2L... as I said, it is bit better vid than my avarage. But anyway...going to faster F2L in a week.

Yes! I think so :P I really believe...

Escher :P Was it easy to say me the next step when u saw a nowadays video?
And Escher, are u used to train ppls? :P Maybe u can help me out cause u write very often to this forum!? :D:D:D:D

In 5 days I think Im gonna reach sub 25sec avarage... all that cause 2-LLL What do u think?

GOAL 25SEC AVARAGE IN 8 WEEKS!

Ok...nvm... lets say this: not to seperate ppl :P Can u all just help me as good as possible...? :D
