Question about v-cubes

I just got my black 5x5 today and I heard somewhere that they put a certain kind of glue in the cube for shipment. Is this true?

P.S. - If it's true, I've heard it wears off after a week or so of use.

yay u got ur v-cube! And when i got my v5 it didnt have any kind of glue in it. oh and when r u gonna post a vid ur v5?

whoa! i just got my black V-5 today too! it still sucks, but it is getting better with each solve. its difficult to turn, but it cuts corners very well. i dont think that there is any glue, its just stiff when its new, and a week is roughly the break-in time. i am going to lube mine in about 2 weeks, depending on how it has loosened up.

Yeah, Erik Johannes (I think that's how it's spelled, he uses petrus) on youtube said that after a week or so his black v5 was much better

I ordered a White V5. I think they are smoother at first.
